When Billy Met Sally When Billy met Sally he was so far away from the one that Sally had hoped for disheveled was he but his charm she could see as he sang from up in his tree As he sang for the cows and sheep passing by in the pasture up in his tree she stopped grazing on her dandelion weeds her love in Billy she could see the cows and the sheep in the pasture passed by they moo and bleet with Billy so sweet a pasture choir they join in his song as best they could to sing (singing) along Sally he sang will you be my sweetheart you're the prettiest goat I've seen I know I'm not much but I climb pretty good I'm not a picky eater I've got a good splean In fact I think you'd be quite impressed by all the things I can eat Sally said Oh Billy it's your singing I love though the other goats say (that) you (just) scream So/and they lived (happily) (together) for the rest of their years as happy as two goats can be Billy found a guitar someone threw away which at first he was tempted to eat but he said what the heck I'll give it a try I'll bar chord with my left hoof and strum a tune with my right one I think and soon he was playing as proof that a goat doesn't scream as he sings for his girl and can even play the guitar might take him only as far as his pasture but to the cows and the sheep he's a star But mostly for Sally he sings his goat songs of all the things he can eat But mostly for Sally he sings his goat songs of all the things he can eat by Doug Newman (c) North East South West Music / ASCAP 3/2/13
Billy and Sally Billy and Sally hit the road with their goat traveling show Billy played guitar while Sally played her Tom Tom and sang along in harmony They traveled around to this barn and that with the cows they were a big hit the sheep soon enough joined in the applause though at first they were jealous a bit Billy would a dance a gig as Sally beat the rig with her little tommy toms to their goat songs Billy would serenade Sally served lemonade going for ten cents a song Then Sally said ut oh lookie here at this little baby bump think that I'll have to hang it up on this travelin show bizz stuff But don't worry dear I've had my sweet fill it's really been quite enough Billy said yes it's been a good run and we've sure have had our fun And I surely do miss our pasture back home serenading cows and sheep all day long as they roam well life on the road you can keep but for one last show Billy he danced a gig Sally she beat the rig with her little tommy toms to their goat songs as Billy would serenade Sally served lemonade going for ten cents a song And Billy said Junior might (just) sing along with all of my goat songs es yes I think it'll be a great time it's gonna be a great time back home by Doug Newman (c) North East South West Music / ASCAP 3/4/13
