I originally wrote the tune for this back in 1984. It was one of the first tunes I wrote. My brother
Dwight added the original words to it- I think they were mostly all his, sometime around then- I think
maybe 1986, and added the bridge instrumental part, and then it's kind of sat on the shelf, until
recently when we changed the lyrics around a bit more to come up with how it presently is. It's still mostly
his lyrics - I had a hand in writing the third verse. Dwight recorded it a take while on a visit here in LA while
on a visit from his home in Kansas City that you can listen to here. It’s on my album "The Sandhill Waltz".
This isn’t the album take though - it’s a demo I just made (5-11).
